    Cigar Humidor Humidifier

    By Ron

There are many cigar humidification products that you can use as your cigar humidor humidifier. This cigar humidor humidifier is probably the most popular available. It will humidify between 50 and 75 cigars.

The picture of the cigar humidor humidifier shows the vented front. You can see the green florist foam through the vents. The rear is sold plastic, and thats where you attach the velcro. The velcro is used to attach your cigar humidor humidifier to the lid of your humidor.

Here is how you use your new cigar humidor humidifier. Put a paper towel down on the table. Put the cigar humidor humidifier on top of the paper towel, vent up so you can see the green florist foam. Now, You need to add Cigar Caddy humidor solution to the cigar humidifier. Just add a few drops. You will see it absorbed quickly. Add a few more drops, and make sure that the humidor solution is still getting absorbed. Keep adding a few drops at a time very slowly. When you see the humidor solution start to puddle up, and not absorb any more solution, stop adding the humidor solution.
Now turn the cigar humidor humidifier upside down for a few minutes. This will allow any excess humidor solution to drain out on the paper towel instead of your cigars. Then wrap the cigar humidifier in the paper towel, and shake it around for a while. Same deal, we want to make sure there is nor excess humidor solution in your cigar humidifier.

Thats it, your new cigar humidor humidifier is fully charged and ready to use. Just attach it to the lid of your humidor, and you are ready to go.

    Humidor Jar

    By Ron

Ever use a Humidor Jar for cigar storage? A humidor jar is about the easiest cigar storage that exists.
If you use todays cigar humidification technology, your humidor jar will work absolutely flawlessly.

Here is the most important advice when using a acrylic humidor jar. Use a Humidipak, or Boveda from the Humidipack company. Both the Boveda and Humidipak are sealed cigar humidifiers. No water or chemicals to add. The Bovedas are available in 65%, 69%, or 72%. The Humidipak in 69%. So you can choose whatever humidity level that you like. The Boveda and Humidipak are safe to lay right next too, and even touch your cigars with no worry about mold. When you first buy your Boveda or Humidipak, you will notice that they have a jelly like feel to them. This means that they have distilled water inside of the pack. When the pack shrinks down in size, and feels hard, that means your cigars have used all the distilled water in the pack, and its time to replace your Boveda or Humidipak. The Humidipak should last about a year in your humidor Jar, the Boveda even longer.

Some people use the green florist foam cigar humidifiers that are usually provided with the jar humidors. If you prefer to use this humidifier, use only a few drops of humidor solution in the humidifier. Your humidor jar is airtight, so its really easy to overhumidify your cigars. My advice is to use the Boveda or Humidipak in your humidor jar.

Last couple bits of advice is to open your humidor jar for a few seconds at least once a week to get some fresh air in the humidor jar. Also, kepp it out of direct sunlight as much as you can. Temperature fluctuations can also cause humidity fluctuations. You want to keep temperature and humidity as even as possible.

Also make sure that your humidor jar has a piece of spanish cedar on the bottom. This helps keep humidity even, and provides a nice smell for your cigars to age in. Also, make sure that the lid of you humidor jar has a gasket, and a nice tight fit. You dont want that humdity leaking out and drying out your cigars.

Need a golf cigar holder? You have come to the right place. Check out the Grip Clip golf cigar holder.

This cigar holder is made of solid wood, and has a mahogany finish. One end of the Grip Clip golf cigar holder clamps on to just about anything. I have clamped it on tree branches while gardening. I have clamped it on the steering wheel of my tractor. I have clamped it on a golf cart, and I have clamped it on to a golf bag. The other end of the Grip Clip golf cigar holder holds your cigar. The cigar clamp has just enough tension to hold your cigar firmly, but causes no damage to your cigar. Home Made Travel Humidor – Part 3

    By Ron

OK, lets finish up our home made travel humidor. In the picture below, you will see the airtight container that we are using for our home made travel humidor. You will also see the 3 foam trays that we discussed in part 2. You will also see the lid with the foam retention bar glued into place.

What we didnt go over in part 1 and 2 was humidification and adding some spanish cedar to your home made travel humidor. The best choice for humidifying this home made humidor will be the Humidipak cigar humidifier. Its simple to use. No need to add water, no fuss, no muss. Just throw in in with your cigars, and you are done. In an airtight travel humidor like what we just made, this Humidipak should last at least a year. Not bad for $2. I always tell people that if Carlito Fuente trusts the Humidipak to protect his cigars while they are being shipped, you can trust the Humidipak to take care of your cigars. You will see the humidipak in the picture above.

Also in the picture above is a thin sheet of spanish cedar. Spanish cedar will give your cigars a nice aroma, and it will also help keep the humidity even in your home made travel humidor.

Next picture is the 3 foam cigar trays loaded with cigar, and yes, they will all fit in the home made travel humidor.

The last picture shows the home made travel humidor loaded with the cigars. I put the spanish cedar sheet in first. Then the Humidipak, then the foam travel humidor trays and the cigars.

Where do you get all the parts that you need for your home made travel humidor?
I got the container for Wal-Mart.
The spanish cedar sheet came from a box of cigars. This is just a real thin sheet that some cigar companies put in the box to separate the cigars. You can also get one from a cigar shop.
The Humidipak and foam travel humidor trays can be purchased at Cigar Solutions.

Home Made 15 Cigar Travel Humidor – Part 2

    By Ron

Next up is the foam cigar trays that you will need for your homemade humidor.
you will need 2 of these foam cigar trays. This will provide you with 3 cut to size cigar trays for your travel humidor, and a scrap piece for a lid retention bar.

I cut the trays to approx. 7.25 x 4.25. I use a tabletop paper trimmer because i have one and use it a lot. A scissor or Exacto knife will work fine. Don’t rely on my measurements. Measure your container carefully, and cut your trays carefully.

For the 15 cigar travel humidor, you will use 3 of the newly cut trays. There will be some foam leftover.
I would suggest that you use a piece of the foam to make a small retention bar for the lid of your new home made humidor. The retention foam will keep you cigars nice and snug. We dont want them flopping around and getting damaged.

Next up, we want to work on the lid. As I said, I like to use a foam retention bar in the lid. I use a small piece of the leftover foam cigar trays. I use a piece of double sided tape to keep it in place.
A picture is worth 1000 words, so here are some pics of the lid.

Buy your foam cigar trays here

Thats enough for tonite. Will finish up in a couple of days.

Home made 15 cigar travel humidor – Part 1

    By Ron

Ok, I am going to divide this up into parts because I am too lazy to do it all at once. Over the next few days, I will be posting instructions on how to make a cheap 15 cigar travel humidor. This will be an airtight, waterproof travel humidor. It won’t be crushproof like a Cigar caddy, but will be an awesome cheap home made travel humidor as long as you dont treat it too rough.

First step was to hit Wal-Mart for the container. Here is a picture of the exact container that I bought. It has clamps on the lid, and a gasket built into the lid. It has a very tight seal. Perfect for a travel humidor. When finished, it will have foam cigar trays, humiidification, and a spanish cedar insert.

Are you looking for an electronic cigar humidification system for a large cigar cabinet humidor? Look no further than the Avallo Accumonitor electronic humidity control system for cabinet humidors.

If you look closely at the Avallo Accumonitor, and compare it to the competition, you will see that the Avallo Accumonitor has no competition.

Just look at what you get:
Ability to run multiple canisters for even humidity throughout a large cigar cabinet humidor.
Circulation fans to insure no dry or wet spots in your cigar cabinet.
Easy, push button humidity control. No complicated modes, or pressing multiple buttons to adjust your humidity level.
Humidity sensor is separate from the controller and the humidity canister. This is important, do not buy a electronic cigar humidification system with the sensor attached to the humidity canister or controller.

    Cigar Tubes

    By Ron

Not all cigar tubes are created equal. So if you are looking to buy the most heavy duty, rugged cigar travel tube, look no further than the Le Tube cigar storage tube.

The Le Tube cigar tube is made of a heavy duty plastic. If you break this cigar tube, you did it on purpose.

The Le Tube has an extremely airtight seal. When you pull the cap off of the cigar tube, it sounds like you are uncorking a bottle of champagne. When you are putting the cap back on, you can feel that air resistance as you push the cap back into place. This is a well designed cigar accessory.

Another nice feature is the ratchet adjustment. The Le Tube cigar storage tube will hold a 6 to 7.5 inch cigar. The cap locks in at half inch adjustments.

I have used and tested a lot of different cigar tubes. Overall, I would say that the Le Tube cigar tube is #1.
